Caught on a Hot Mic; Channel 7 Broadcasters Talk Trash on Djokovic

Another day, another hot microphone debacle.

This time, Melbourne-based Channel Seven presenters Mike Amor and Rebecca Maddern are caught saying what they REALLY think about men's #1 tennis player

Novak Djokovic and his current AustralianOpen visa problems (video and transcript below).

As professional broadcasters Amor and Maddern:

๐Ÿ’ก Should know better than to talk trash on-set.

๐Ÿ’ก Should know that the "wild feed" is nearly always on in broadcasting, whether the show is on-air or not. Someone is always watching or listening (and quite possibly recording).

๐Ÿ’ก Should understand that their news credibility and objectivity on this story are now terribly damaged. Channel 7 should not let them report news on this story in the future as the audience has seen their personal bias.

Here are some tips if you are an interviewee on a podcast or broadcast media interview:

๐Ÿš€ Assume (in the case of a TV or radio interview) that your comments are being recorded or monitored, even if you're off-air.

๐Ÿš€ Do express yourself during your interview, even if you have a controversial viewpoint.

๐Ÿš€ But know that anything you say - from the moment you say "hello" - could be recorded and played back.

๐Ÿš€ Be credible, clear, and concise.

Note: some language in this clip may be objectionable
